Councilor Roderick Awingan said the concert was a success with the Edralins performing for a cause at the municipal gym.
Awingan said audience coming to the concert was a mixed crowd of old timers and youth. “It was a good crowd, they enjoyed.”
Two local bands opened the act for the Edralins giving a chance to homegrown talents, Dusk Till Dawn and Darcy Farrow to entertain partygoers.
Awingan said the proceeds of the concert will go to the purchase of thermoscan equipment for the 16 barangays of the municipality.
Awingan said more funds will be collected in the December 16 “Country Stampede” event, the highlight of the festival aiming to give a chance to enjoy arts and song with a cause to benefit Valley constituents.
The 1st La Trinidad Music and Arts Festival aims to bring to the foreground talent of the youth in art and culture.
The festival is a project of the local Tourism Committee headed by Awingan and backed by Estrella Adeban and Horacio Ramos.
Awingan said preparations for the December 16 event are ongoing. “We are excited for that event featuring country bands and line dancing for the audience.”
The tourism committee also teamed up with the SK Federation for the “Linggo ng Kabataan” on December 12 to 17 featuring art workshops for the youth. - (SunStar / by Ma. Elena Catajan)
