Baguio City to reduce number of pedestrian lanes along Session Road

The Traffic and Transportation Management Council (TTMC) of the city is recommending the permanent closure of some pedestrian lanes along Session Road to address the worsening traffic condition along said road.

Earlier on, some pedestrian lanes have already been temporarily closed for about a month to study its effect on traffic. The TTMC said that the temporary closer of some pedestrian lanes along Session Road has yielded positive result and as such are making them permanent. Pedestrian lanes that will be closed are the ones in front of McDonalds going to Philippine National Bank and the pedestrian lane along Porta Vaga going to National Life Building. Said recommendation has already been submitted to the city council for approval.

Because of the positive result of this study, the TTMC is also eyeing on making the same analysis on other parts of the city.
