“Colder days will still be ahead because of the prevalence of the northeast monsoon” said Letty Dispo, PAGASA weather specialist.
Dr. Rowena Galpo, assistant city health officer, advised the public to gear up and wear jackets and thick clothings to keep themselves warm.
The country’s “Summer Capital ” earned another title as the “honeymooner’s paradise” because of its cold weasther as well as scenic spots and pine-scented air. The city’s natural air-conditioning is a natural magnet for visitors to flock to Baguio.
“The temperature is expected to drop to a single digit within the next few months which will be an added boost to the growth of the tourism industry,” Dispo said.
The city’s lowest temperature (6.3 degrees) was recorded by PAGASA on January 18, 1961. - (Manila Standard / by Dexter See)
