The MOA was signed between the Baguio City Police Office (BCPO) headed by P/Sr.Supt. David Q. Lacdan and the 21st Air Force Group Reserved (AFGR) under Col. Alberto V. Reyes.

“The police force needs help in securing the over populated city especially our students and tourists,” Lacdan said.

This is the reason the assistance of civic organizations with good track record like the 21st AFGR is needed, he further said.

The city has series of activities the whole year round. As expected during the holiday season, tourists and businessmen come up to the city to enjoy the cool weather or hold seminars and conferences. Thus, trained personnel are needed to help implement traffic and ensure safety, Lacdan explained.

In the MOA, both forces will jointly undertake and coordinate efforts and resources in maintaining peace and order in every event or activity and ensure visibility including crowd control, Lacdan added.

Reyes on his part said they can provide trained manpower for rescue operations during disasters and calamites which the city is prone to.

“At any given time we can assist the Baguio’s Finest in maintaining peace and order in the city. Our action is always under the supervision of the police,” Reyes elaborated. - (PIA / by Joseph B. Zambrano)
