"With what we have witnessed the past 3 qualifying legs in Zamboanga, Dumaguete, and Baguio last week-end, we are looking forward to a very competitive national finals as the best athletes of the regions vie for possible slots in the Youth Olympic Games in 2014. And this is why we have decided to send both the gold and silver medalists in the qualifying legs to Naga City, except in tennis where only the top athletes get a slot, " said Jolly Gomez, PSC Commissioner -in-charge of the this year's Batang Pinoy.
Gomez also took the opportunity in the past legs to talk to the different delegation heads about the sports development programs and concerns in their respective areas to help PSC plan a more responsive program to address these concerns.
"We will discuss all these concerns at our 2012 Sports Summit and what we have so far are very informative and helpful to us," added Gomez. - (Manila Bulletin)
