Benguet police has new horses/cars donated by local government

Benguet Governor Nestor Fongwan said Wednesday the four additional vehicles and three horses for the policemen serving the province will further help the lawmen keep peace in the area.

The assistance was made as the Police Regional Office Cordillera started to tighten security measures in all communities as the holidays near.

Traditionally, more people are visiting various eco-tourism spots in the province at this time of the year when rainfall tapers off and temperatures start to be chilly to an average low of 12 degrees Celsius, especially in high-lying areas like Tuba, Atok, Buguias and other areas in the province.

These are the areas where visitors love to witness how frost develops every morning from the months of December to February.

“We have to give additional horses for our mounted cops who proved efficiency in patrolling our mountain tourist areas like Mount Pulag in Kabayan, as well as those in Man-kayan,” said Fongwan.

He added the vehicles in Sablan, Tuba and Atok would help police stations provide police visibility. - (SunStar / by Aure Galacgac)
