However, Fongwan said they will have to construct it by phase as the province still lacks funding for the project.
“We are expecting the release of P30-35 million for the gym which will be constructed phase by phase,” the governor quipped adding bulk of the funding will come from the province’ surplus fund.

"We will take it slowly in developing the area," he said.
Earlier, a tennis court worth close to P900,000 was constructed after the province hosted the annual Cordillera Administrative Region Athletic Association with some 2,000 high school and elementary student athletes joining the weeklong event.
Additional covered bleachers will also be placed in the area where people can stay while watching the events.
“We are hoping to host the Palarong Pambansa in the near future once the improvement of the sports complex is finished,” added Fongwan.
Fongwan added more money is still needed for the province to finish the sports complex situated at the Benguet Stock Farm.
The construction started almost two years ago with more than P12 million already used for the complex itself with around P3 million used for the drainage and at least P6 million used for the construction of the bleachers.
Aside from the modern basketball gym, other amenities being planned for the sports complex are volleyball covered courts and an Olympic sized swimming pool.
