The DOH said the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has started this week the inspection of the establishments that sell toys.

The DOH said FDA inspectors will conduct onsite testing of toys sold in various shopping malls and street vendors.

Appropriate regulatory sanctions will be issued against products found to be noncompliant to safety standards.

In addition to the presence of toxic heavy metals such as lead (Pb), cadmium (Cd), chromium (Cr), mercury (Hg) and arsenic (As), the FDA will also inspect labels of products for appropriate warnings. - (PhilStar)
