More scholarship training slots available at TESDA Ifugao

The Technical Education and Skills Development Administration (Tesda) announced the opening of scholarship trainings in continuing effort to help provide skills to interested individuals for better chances of landing a job or starting livelihood.

Provincial Director Genaro Ibay said slots are open for trainings at the Tesda Training Center in Awao, Poblacion North, Lagawe - four in welding; 20 slots in tile setting; and 15 each in carpentry and masonry.

Tesda is also offering trainings to be conducted in Baguio City on slaughtering, finishing course for medical transcriptionist, finishing course for contact center agent, housekeeping and animation.

For these scholarship grants, the applicants should submit the following requirements to the Tesda Provincial Training Center: four pieces passport size ID picture with white background, shirt with collar; six 6 1”x1” ID picture; NCAE result or undergo Youth Profiling for Starting Career-computer-based aptitude test; high school diploma/report card but not required for non-High School graduate; barangay clearance; birth certificate, and one piece long envelope.

Meanwhile, as a show of support and contribution to the “Maagang Pamasko” Project of Govenor Eugene Balitang, Tesda conducted several free services to showcase the output of the technical courses they are teaching.

Last December 5, they held a free competency assessment for those who applied at their Provincial Training Center with 20 slots each on automotive servicing, bookkeeping and motorcycle/small engine repair, 10 slots on caregiving and tour guiding and 30 slots on driving.

On December 7, a free motorcycle/small engine servicing involving tune-up and repair of minor damages was also done at the Renzy Motorcycle Parts and Services in Poblacion West here.

Free foot spa and massage services were also provided for those experiencing body pains or discomfort at the Meridien Paramedical and Technical College located at Poblacion South which benefited many old and young people alike. - (SunsStar / by Dan B. Codamon)
