The 1st La Trinidad Music and Arts Festival closes this weekend with country style song and dance as well as art workshop for the youth.

The 1st “Country Stampede” at the municipal gym Friday drew in country lovers who enjoyed a night of songs and line dancing led by Committee on Tourism chairman, councilor Roderick Awingan.
Awingan said the proceeds of the event will add to funds needed to buy of thermoscan equipment for the 16 barangays of the municipality, adding to earlier proceeds from another concert event which opened the festival.
The festival is a project of the local Tourism Committee headed by Awingan and backed by Estrella Adeban and Horacio Ramos with SK federation president Brenden Quintos.
Quintos is leading celebrations for the “Linggo ng Kabataan” on December 12-17 featuring art exhibits workshops for the youth.
The Tam–awan village artists were tapped to give an art exhibition which opened Dec 12 at the Garden City Hotel here.
Top artists from the Chanum Foundation run art haven displayed their work at the local hotel with Jordan Mang-osan leading exhibitors.
Edwin Macadaeg, Jules Almirol, Art Lozano, Ged Alangui, Patrick Palasi, John Belocura, Resty Lopez, Jen Lorenzo, Lilly Villanueva and Alfred Datu joined the exhibit in a bid to entice the youth to explore the arts.
Today (Saturday) the same artist group will give art workshops for local youth here aiming to further pique their interest as well as teach them an alternative livelihood.
Workshops on solar painting, t-shirt printing, basic sketching and water color painting is on going for the whole day also at the Garden City Hotel. (SunStar / by Ma. Elena Catajan)
